Our Team
At Pilates DNA, our team is made up of exceptional teachers with deep roots in the Pilates method, originally known as Contrology. Our work is shaped by a powerful tradition passed down through first-generation teacher Jay Grimes, whose influence continues to guide the way we study, practice, and teach.
We take this work seriously. Pilates is not a trend, a performance, or a personality brand to us. It is a method, a discipline, and a lifelong practice. Our teachers bring experience, care, precision, and a true respect for the system to every session.
Whether you are beginning your practice or ready to go deeper, our team is here to guide you with intelligence, integrity, and a clear understanding of what Pilates can become when it is taught well.
Keion Moradi Means - Owner of Pilates DNA
Keion is the founder of Pilates DNA, a brand committed to sharing the authentic Pilates method. She is a graduate of THE WORK™, a rigorous and highly selective continuing education program for elite Pilates instructors. Keion studied extensively under first-generation master teacher Jay Grimes and Sandy Shimoda, owner of Vintage Pilates.
Upon graduation, Keion was handpicked to join the teaching staff at the original Vintage Pilates Studio, and in 2019, fulfilled her goal of studio ownership at Strong Body Pilates before opening Pilates DNA in 2025. Her journey with Pilates reflects a deep commitment to excellence and tradition.

Keion is also the editor of Shimoda’s Contrology Handbook and serves as a lecturer in the English department at California State University, Northridge.
Jeane Kim - Pilates Apprentice / Teacher
Jeane Kim is a dedicated apprentice in the Contrology Method program at Pilates DNA. Before beginning her formal apprenticeship, she spent three years immersed in her own practice—studying the method, observing sessions, and building a strong foundation of knowledge and body awareness. Her path into teaching reflects both patience and integrity, a rarity in an era of shortcuts. Jeane is now well into her apprenticeship hours and continues to refine her teaching through hands-on experience and deep study. With a background in creative fields, she brings a thoughtful, problem-solving mindset to her work, recognizing that real teaching is not just about cueing exercises but helping each client build meaningful awareness in their own body. If you're curious about working with Jeane, this is a great time to connect while she’s still offering sessions at the apprentice rate.
Kerrynton Jones - Pilates Apprentice
Kerrynton Jones is a Maryland Native turned Angelino. As many dancers do she discovered Pilates through her dance career, as a means for both injury prevention and performance preparation. However, it was consistency through her personal practice of Contrology that helped her reach new heights in and out of the studio. Pilates DNA entered her realm at a pivotal point in her journey to becoming a Pilates teacher and apprenticeship has aided in her discovery of the power of the method in its fullness. Kerrynton’s extensive history in the entertainment industry allows her to bring a tactile, disciplined, and detailed approach to guiding others through the Pilates system. She works diligently to train her eye and continuously refine her approach. Simultaneously, she encourages clients to take ownership of their practice and embrace the rewarding challenge of training the mind and body as one.
